No salaries, the Tossilo workers protest
The payment would have been made on time, but Tossilo says that the money has not arrived. And the workers are the ones who lose out
This morning they protested right in front of the waste treatment plants , which have been closed for years , to demand the payment of their salaries .
The workers of Tossilo Spa , seconded to the municipalities of Borore and Macomer, by virtue of an agreement with the Region, have not yet received their wages for March, which should have been paid on the 27th.
«We are forced to once again express our discontent with our serious situation - say the workers - we have our families, mortgage to pay and much more. Yet a month ago, in the Prefecture, they guaranteed us that salaries would be paid regularly until the end of the year."
For their part, the mayors of Macomer and Borore, Riccardo Uda and Tore Ghisu, state that the payment mandate was completed within the established timeframe. On the other hand, however, at Tossilo Spa they say that the money has not yet arrived. A hitch in the banks?
The workers were assured that everything will be resolved within a few days . However, nothing is known about the start-up of the new waste-to-energy plant and the composting plant. They have been waiting for authorizations and other documentation for a few years now.
