A park without political guidance, a stalemate that leaves the institution without governance pending the signing of an appointment decree.
The Asinara National Park, for seven years without a president, has now also been orphaned by the extraordinary commissioner Gabriela Scanu: her office was conferred by the Minister of the Environment and Protection of the Territory and the Sea on 26 February 2020 and is expired March 2. There was no extension this time. The Minister of Ecological Transition did not comment.
The ongoing negotiations between the Region and the ministry focus on the shortlist of names to choose for the presidency: a choice on which to converge the political will of both institutions.
In the meantime, the director, Vittorio Gazale, takes care of guiding the Asinara park, who with increasing difficulty has to extricate himself from a thousand practices and projects to be carried out to support a complex situation: the lack of personnel and bureaucracy contribute to slowing down a planning necessary to boost the tourist and environmental development of the island.
A territory of about 52 square kilometres, a naturalistic landscape to be protected, the critical issues of flora and fauna to be faced, as well as the needs of the operators who are preparing to guarantee services to visitors for the next season.
