Validation of the arrest of the 14 Nigerians taken to Bancali, last Tuesday, after the blitz of the State Police in the historic center of Sassari.
Thirty people were arrested in total , the other 16 were also arrested on the peninsula, accused of mafia-style criminal association, drug trafficking, prostitution and money laundering .
The validation hearing lasted approximately 7 hours, in front of the investigating judge Gian Paolo Piana and the prosecutor Angelo Beccu.
Some of the defendants chose to respond, denying the charges , others remained silent.
The lawyers asked for the detention requests to be invalidated because they were not translated into English.
The judge has reserved the decision on whether to confirm the precautionary measure of prison.
The defense lawyers are Francesco Sasso, Elisabetta Udassi, Carlo Pinna Parpaglia, Adina Barbu and Giuseppe Onorato.
