A race against time to save a two-day-old baby: a lifesaving flight from Alghero to Genoa, operated last night by an Italian Air Force G650 aircraft.

The little girl, whose life was in imminent danger - explains the Air Force - needed to be urgently transferred from the hospital in Sassari, where she had previously been admitted, to the Gaslini hospital in Genoa.

Specifically, the baby traveled in a dedicated thermal bassinet inside the aircraft, constantly monitored and cared for by a medical team composed of a doctor and a nurse.

The lifesaving flight was activated, at the request of the Prefecture of Sassari, by the Situation Room of the Air Squadron Command in Milan, which immediately involved the 31st Wing, one of the units that carries out operational readiness service for this type of mission.
