Preparations are in full swing in Olbia for the New Year's Eve celebrations, which this year will begin on the evening of December 30, when in Piazza Crispi from 9pm until midnight there will be DJ sets by Rds and comedians from Zelig and Colorado, before moving on to the key evening of December 31. At 10.30pm Pinguini Tattici Nucleari will take to the stage set up at Molo Brin, and after the stroke of midnight Boomdabash will perform.
To ensure safety, but also to allow the celebrations to last a little longer than on other days of the year, the municipal administration led by Settimo Nizzi has issued some ordinances. From 5 pm on December 30th until midnight on January 1st, with ordinance 109/2024, the possession and sale of pyrotechnics such as firecrackers, firecrackers and similar in public areas is prohibited. During the same period of time, with the exception of those authorized to possess and use them, it is prohibited to use pyrotechnics of any kind in public areas.
Fireworks, theatrical pyrotechnics and other pyrotechnic, crackling, crackling, whistling items, with the exception of exclusively light-effect items, if compliant with current regulations, may be used exclusively within private areas, without causing discomfort to people and animals. The consumption, possession and sale for take-away, both in fixed and street form, of beverages of any kind contained in glass bottles, plastic bottles, tetra brik containers and cans is also prohibited in the municipal area from 7:00 p.m. on December 31st until 7:00 a.m. on January 1st. Public establishments and premises where food and beverage services are provided and holders of street vendor licenses must serve take-away beverages exclusively in paper or compostable cups, avoiding the use of plastic. The time during which venues may play live music is extended until 4:00 a.m. on January 1st. After this time, music may only be played inside suitable soundproofed rooms, without being heard outside or in living areas.
