No flop but only “ an experience we will treasure ”.

Mayor Campus analyzes, with a cool head, the results of the Sassari New Year's Eve, the subject of much controversy due to the three squares out of four deserted by the population despite the scheduled exhibitions. « We wanted to give an answer to neighborhoods like the historic center and Latte Dolce by bringing music but people snubbed this fragmentation ». And if he admits the mistake of not having concentrated everything in Piazza Castello, he however refuses comparisons with other island cities, and their mega-shows.

«We invested 30,000 euros and they 500,000 . What is expected?” he reiterated, as already stated on other occasions, that the city's events of great attraction are the Candelieri and the Cavalcata, and that « Sassari has never had a great tradition of concerts ».

The mayor then responds to the Democratic Party and Futuro Comune who have accused him of being far from the population and the city. «Population is a big word - replies the civic leader - I have received many messages of solidarity in recent hours. The city of those who contest me is far from me , it is the one that lost the elections and with which I cannot and do not want to dialogue because it is based on prejudice". He defines the opposition's attacks as "childish and reductive", and reiterates that he wanted to allocate the money to "those who are weaker and not to the elites , because I want to be everyone's mayor".

And finally, he lists the works inaugurated by the administration, or soon to open, from the Tavolara pavilion to the Turritania: «We have given the answers that Sassari has been expecting for years».
