The call for proposals for the New Year's Eve events program has been published. The Regional Council has approved the specific requirements and eligibility criteria for grants for public events of major tourist interest under the law on major New Year's Eve events.
Municipalities organizing New Year's Eve concerts with live music will be able to submit applications from November 3rd to 14th.
"These types of initiatives not only enliven the area," explains Tourism Councilor Franco Cuccureddu , "but also represent an important territorial marketing tool. Specifically, they are part of a strategy aimed at promoting Sardinia as a vibrant and attractive destination year-round , making it a winter tourism destination , especially on days when people tend to spend more and travel more, such as New Year's Eve, but also Carnival, Holy Week, and Easter Monday. These will be the subject of specific calls for proposals, which will be published in the coming weeks."
Two measures are envisaged. Plan 2.1: With a security plan for at least ten thousand people, allocated a budget of €2 million. Plan 2.2: With a security plan for at least three thousand people, allocated a budget of €1 million.
The Regional Department of Tourism, Crafts, and Commerce may fund submitted projects up to 50% of eligible expenses. At least 20% of the awarded funding must be allocated to communication and promotion.
The expenses included in the application must relate to concerts taking place between December 28th and 31st . Expenses related to "collateral activities" are also eligible, up to a maximum of 20% of eligible expenses, and must take place between December 18th and 31st.
