The new hospital in Alghero could be built in Mamuntanas. This is the area identified by the local health authority of Sassari, which has received from the Region the task of identifying the area for the construction of the health facility of the future for the Catalan city.

The news emerged this morning during the meeting organized by Asl 1, which was attended, among others, by the regional councilors of Health, Carlo Doria, and of Local Authorities, Aldo Salaris, as well as the director of Asl 1, the extraordinary commissioner of the Province of Sassari and the president of the social health conference.

"A technical meeting", explains councilor Doria, "to examine the proposals contained in the study which, as requested, implemented the hospital network with a 250-bed structure suitable for containing the services currently found in the two old hospitals , Civil and Marine. Structures which, once the new hospital is in operation», specified the exponent of the Giunta, «will be redeveloped. Following the indications we have given , the Local Health Authority, in agreement with the Municipality of Alghero, has identified the spaces in Mamuntanas, an area already in public availability which has the appropriate road and technical characteristics also for the possibility of landing by the ambulance " .

«An undoubtedly positive meeting», added Doria, «also because in a short time, compared to the request we had made, we had the opportunity to examine the proposal. We are firmly convinced of the need to build new hospitals and that Alghero deserves a new modern and efficient structure».
