“Cagliari university city”: this is the objective declared by ERSU. To achieve it, real estate risk has begun. The campus in viale La Playa is labeled a "forerunner" project. Then there are two others: one in viale Fra' Ignazio (in the building of the former blind institute) and the other in via Trentino, in the area now used as a parking lot: an operation, the latter, on which raised many doubts and of which the Municipality, at the moment, seems to know little or nothing. But the plan is there.

Meanwhile, other interventions are increasingly taking shape, described in detail in one of the latest resolutions of the board of directors of the regional body for university study, chaired by Cosimo Ghiani: the document, approved in December, describes the guidelines for the use of 22.5 million euros allocated by regional law.

Offices are moved, new student houses are created and the focus is on important real estate acquisitions. The procedures have already been started.

CANTEEN. Following the order of the provision, the first construction site should concern the canteen of Sa Duchessa, the scene of subsidence and inconvenience: the kitchens will be redone in the expanded building. «In addition, the area pertaining to Ersu falling within a lot of a total of about 3600 square meters could be used - we read - adjacent to the existing structure, of which Ersu owns approximately 550 square meters». There are 3 million to do it.

HOME AND OFFICES. The offices of the central headquarters in Corso Vittorio Emanuele will be transformed into a student house, also thanks to the contribution of the Ministry of Research. "To this end, the plan for the restructuring and functional adaptation of Palazzo Vivanet in via Roma was drawn up at the same time - says the document - so that it can be used as the future administrative headquarters of the institution and guest quarters". An exchange, therefore: at the expense of ERSU there would be an expense of 4 million, the rest must arrive from Rome, through a tender already underway. "Regarding this intervention - it is written in the resolution - the economic operator who will proceed with the drafting of the technical-economic feasibility project has already been identified".

THE ACQUISITION. Then the big expense of this tranche of interventions. That of 15.5 million "for the acquisition of a property to be used as a university residence, to be subjected to subsequent restructuring and functional adaptation". Priority is given "to already existing publicly owned buildings and to judicial executive bankruptcy procedures". It doesn't say, but the objective is the old Lay clinic in viale Fra' Ignazio, which is now in the bankruptcy of the Ragazzo group (which has already included, for various properties, the former San Salvatore clinic and the offices overlooking Tuvixeddu, two other famous entrepreneurs from Cagliari). Bids must be submitted by 28 February: the announcement has already been published. There are 8 million available, another 7.5 will be used for the restructuring.
