A cold room intended for food storage that was not adequately cleaned and failure to comply with HACCP procedures.
These are the irregularities detected yesterday by the Carabinieri of the Iglesias Company who, together with colleagues from the NAS of Cagliari, carried out a series of targeted checks on some businesses in the Sulcis area.
A supermarket was found to have failed to clean a cold storage unit intended for storing food at negative temperatures. The facility was issued a notice requiring it to restore hygienic conditions within a specified timeframe. Failure to comply will result in a fine of between €1,000 and €6,000.
A second business discovered a further irregularity, this time related to failure to comply with the procedures set forth in the HACCP self-monitoring manual, specifically regarding the analysis of drinking water used in food handling and production areas. This business was immediately fined €2,000.
