Prosecutor Giovanna Morra requested a life sentence with daytime solitary confinement for eight months against Masih Shahid , the thirty-one-year-old Pakistani accused of the attempted murder of his ex-partner Paola Piras and of the premeditated murder of her son, Mirko Farci, 19 years old , killed on 11 May 2021 in Tortolì while trying to defend his mother from the attack.

Before the Court of Assizes of Cagliari, presided over by judge Giovanni Massidda (alongside Stefania Selis), the public prosecution reconstructed what for the Lanusei prosecutor's office would have been the events that would have led to the murder.

«There was premeditation – clarified prosecutor Morra – there was a strong and unhealthy jealousy towards his ex. And the defendant didn't just want to kill Paola, but he had also planned to kill Mirko ».

Earlier Masih Shahid made spontaneous statements. The woman, hit with 18 stab wounds, had remained in a coma for weeks before being hospitalized for two months in the Lanusei hospital .

The defendant, confessed, remained silent all the time next to the defense lawyer Federico Delitala . After the pm, the civil party lawyers Paolo Pilia, Marcello Caddori, Maurizio Corda and Maurizio Mereu spoke in the courtroom
