Life imprisonment without extenuating circumstances. This is the request made by Public Prosecutor Diana Lecca at the end of her closing argument in the trial before the Cagliari Assize Court, in which 21-year-old Gabriele Cabras is charged with the murder of Gabriele Pergola, a 43-year-old businessman from Quartu, who was strangled to death two years ago in a B&B in Quartucciu.

According to the prosecution, it was a case of aggravated robbery. The prosecutor's discussion lasted about an hour and confirmed the initial reconstruction: the businessman was killed in the "Corte Cristina" hotel on Via Nazionale, during an assault intended for robbery.

The defense disagreed. Attorney Giovanni Cabras requested an acquittal, arguing that there were no grounds for voluntary manslaughter.

Present in the courtroom were both the defendant, Gabriele Cabras, and the victim's family, who had joined the civil action with lawyers Mauro Massa and Fausto Argiolas.

The Court, presided over by Judge Giovanni Massidda, adjourned the hearing until October 29, when the sentence will be read.
