He really didn't want to wait for a comfortable bed at the Monserrato hospital, he preferred the passenger side seat of a "Jeep" off-road vehicle. Francesco was born right there on Wednesday afternoon, on state road 554 at the traffic light for Selargius.
It began in Muravera, in whose hospital there is no obstetrics department. Francesco's mother, Alessandra Sanna, warns the first signs. Dad Luca Paderi, 41, is ready. It's 4.40 pm on 7 June, everything is within the norm «also because when our first child was born - says Luca - 5 hours went by from the first signs to the birth. We'll be in the hospital in an hour at the latest."
And instead, after 35 minutes of travel, mother Alessandra screams more and more : «I can't, I can't keep it». On the 554 state road, Luca telephones Agnese, the obstetrician of the Polyclinic who, in turn, alerts the whole team and begins to give Luca the first indications. The emergency room of the Polyclinic is just a few kilometers away, Francesco was born .
«I would never have thought – concludes the father – that he would be born in a car. We already love Francesco immensely for the will to live he has shown from the very first second».
