Serious accident at work this afternoon in Monserrato , where a 28-year-old construction worker was crushed by the arm of a crane while carrying out a maneuver with the vehicle mounted on a commercial vehicle.

The worker, a resident of the area, suffered serious injuries to his lower limbs.

Despite the seriousness of the accident, the young man remained conscious and was rescued by the 118 medical personnel , who arrived promptly on the scene. He was transported in red code to the Brotzu hospital in Cagliari , where he underwent medical treatment.

Also at the scene of the accident were the Carabinieri and the technical staff of SPRESAL (Service for Prevention and Safety in Workplaces) of the ASL of Cagliari, who proceeded to seize the Iveco Daily vehicle used during the operations.

Investigations are still ongoing to reconstruct the dynamics of the accident and verify any violations of workplace safety regulations.
