Ferruccio Sanvido didn't make it: a long-time former municipal councilor in Selargius , with a passage also in the Province at the Vice-regal Palace, he had long been suffering from a rare lung disease which took him away in the last few hours. He was 67 years old.
In recent days he had written to the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, after having addressed the one of the Region, Christian Solinas.
Sanvido needed a transplant due to "idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis". Intervention that could not be carried out in Sardinia. For him it was necessary to leave for Padua.
«Last June, despite having agreed with the Volotea company by proving through health documentation, technical data sheets of the two devices (high-flow Stroller, containing 3 liters of cryoscopic oxygen, capable of delivering 6-8 l/m) and certificate of absence of electric circuits or batteries, my transfer, when I was already on board», he denounced , «the flight was made impossible by the decision of the flight commander who justifies his decision by applying the Ata and ENAC regulations, equating the contents of the devices "dangerous because they contained a volume greater than 100 cc».
This problem, Sanvido argued, "is a real architectural barrier that only concerns those who reside on the islands or have to reach them, to ensure health continuity and not just a territorial one".
He had asked for an intervention from the Head of State. But Sanvido died before receiving an answer.
