Life imprisonment confirmed for the farmer Vincenzo Unali, 63 years old from Mores, sentenced in the first instance in 2020 by the Assize Court of Sassari because he was found guilty of having killed the man who was courting one of his daughters. The Court of Cassation then annulled the second instance sentence, sending the documents back to Cagliari for a new appeal trial .

The murder dates back to December 15, 2016. Alessio Ara, a 37-year-old worker, was killed with two gunshots while he was about to enter his mother's house, in Ittireddu, in the Sassari area . Ara was killed because he was courting one of Unali's daughters, who was already romantically linked to another boy who was a business partner of Unali himself.

The Court of Assizes of Appeal of Cagliari, presided over by Judge Massimo Poddighe, has accepted the request for confirmation of the first-instance sentence formulated by the deputy attorney general Michele Incani. For Vincenzo Unali, defended by the lawyer from Sassari Pietro Diaz, the life sentence has been confirmed again . Once the reasons have been filed, the case will return to the Supreme Court.
