More resources for healthcare in the maneuver approved by the Council of Ministers. "I would say that the effort was made, the problem is felt by the Government, but Sardinia pays for the health system itself, so we won't get much from the increase in the health fund." These are the words of the regional health councilor, Carlo Doria, commenting on the economic measure passed by the Council of Ministers.

My budget colleague Giuseppe Fasolino even points out that "if we were then forced to cover that increase with regional resources, this would be a problem".

Doria recalls the transversal and bipartisan battle carried out with the other Regions in the commissions: «We reiterated in all the meetings, even with Minister Schillaci, that the national health system is underfunded and is one of the main reasons for the flight of staff from the public system ».

The resulting problems are there for all to see: shortages in staffing, which reverberate in growing waiting lists, emergency rooms in disarray, very high pressure for those who work. And in a crucial sector that risks collapse.

Suggestions on this point may arrive during the parliamentary examination of the text: «We could work on the proposals already advanced to reduce tax on staff emoluments, acting on some allowances and additional benefits», explains councilor Doria, recalling how in the last link "six million euros were allocated to the regional financial institution by the Council for the disciplines lacking in disadvantaged hospitals , to encourage doctors to fill the roles".
