Porto Cervo celebrates the longevity of Sardinia (and not only). And Mogol. The two-day Longevity Fest, now in its third edition, ended with the delivery of the Longevity Award to the famous lyricist, born in 1936, who in the Piazzetta of Porto Cervo received the recognition, a novelty of the season, from researcher Gianni Pes, father of the concept of Blue Zone, where people live longer.

The award, a sculpture depicting a thousand-year-old olive tree, a symbol of longevity, was created by the artist Giuseppe Sanna . The evening, hosted by the singer and actress Ambra Pintore, continued with the presentation of the documentary “Arzachentos”, directed by the artistic director of the Longevity Fest Pietro Mereu, which explores the phenomenon of longevity in the Arzachena area, and the talk “How to become a Blue Zone”, which, in addition to Mereu and Pes, was attended by the mayor of Arzachena Roberto Ragnedda and Giovanni Scapagnini, professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the Department of Medicine and Health Sciences of the University of Molise.

Following the homage to Costa Rica, already protagonist of the first evening of the Longevity Fest 2024, with the screening of the documentary “Kentannos” by Victor Cruz, focused on the centenarians of the Nicoya Peninsula. So, in conclusion, the round table moderated by Ambra Pintore with Pes, Scapagnini, Jorge Vindas, founder of the Zona Azul association of the Nicoya Peninsula, Laura Vindas and Alessandra Nieddu, researcher of the Department of Biomedical Sciences of the University of Sassari, who shared her experience of collaboration with the Vindas in a comparative research on the diets of Costa Rican and Sardinian centenarians.
