Twenty-one citizens, including workers, teachers and employees, will appear on May 23 before the court of Nuoro for having participated, as a sign of solidarity with the shepherds, who protested for a fair price of milk, in the demonstration on February 13, 2019 on the state road 131 dcn at the junction of Lula.
The summons to trial of the investigating judge Giovanni Angelicchio comes after the opposition to a penal decree of conviction.
The Libertade association speaks of "a story that seems infinite, which is linked to the birth of our association and for which dozens of pastors are on trial".
«Today – continues the association – we learned that another 21 people will be tried for having participated in the great demonstration at the Lula bridge, when shepherds and thousands of supportive citizens protested for a fair remuneration for sheep's milk. This is the same protest for which 4 pastors are charged, with the charge of blocking the road, whose trial is instead in the final stages. This time it is not shepherds who are on trial, but men and women who took to the streets to demonstrate in solidarity with the workers in struggle. All or almost all have one thing in common: being known political militants and for this reason identified among about two thousand demonstrators in the Digos films and then reported for an unauthorized demonstration. As we have already written several times that day - Libertade continues -, on February 13, 2019, a completely peaceful demonstration took place, without any incidents, with the participation of representatives of the institutions, mayors, schools and many other people.
The same association announces a demonstration of solidarity to defend the freedom to demonstrate.
For the same protest, on February 13 at the Lula crossroads on March 29 in Nuoro there will be a discussion hearing where 4 pastors are accused of blocking the road.
The association's lawyer, Giulia Lai, adds: «We are awaiting the outcome of the trial for which 4 pastors are being tried for the crime of blocking the road and for the same protest, the final discussion of which will be on March 29, trial from which emerged that it was a widely attended, peaceful demonstration that took place in a festive atmosphere".
