New arrivals of migrants on the coasts of Sulcis Iglesiente .

In the early afternoon of Friday a group of 15 people was intercepted as they were preparing to land near the town of Coequaddus, on the island of Sant'Antioco.

The naval operations section of the Guardia di Finanza intervened on the spot and escorted the migrants to the commercial port of the lagoon island.

In the meantime, some checks are underway for any other landings on the coast by the agents of the barracellar company of Sant'Antioco and the civil protection Assosulcis.

Another group of five migrants was intercepted near the beach of Porto Pino where the Civil Protection of Sant'Anna Arresi intervened.

And the Portuguese Republican National Guard under Frontex is carrying out checks at sea to intercept other small boats bound for the Sulcis coast. Other landings in the next few hours are not excluded.
