Migrants, non-stop landings in the south of the island: 68 people stopped, including women and minors

The landings of migrants along the south-western coast of Sardinia continue unabated .
During the night the Carabinieri tracked down and rescued 68 non-EU citizens, almost all of them from Algeria and Tunisia .
In Sant'Anna Arresi, on the first beach of Porto Pino, the military tracked down 10 migrants, including 6 men, 1 woman and 3 minors, who had landed shortly before . Subsequently, in the same location, they rescued and stopped another 5 migrants, all adult men , who had arrived along the coast. The vessels used were not found.
Shortly after in Pula the Carabinieri tracked down 7 adult men, without documents and of presumed Algerian nationality, who landed on the beach of Forte Village. Also in Pula, another 9 migrants , including 3 women and 2 children, of presumed Tunisian nationality, were tracked down in the locality of Cala Verde . Their vessel, a 5.5-meter fiberglass boat with a 40 HP engine, was seized.
At Capo Malfatano , the military of the San Giovanni Suergiu station tracked down 12 migrants (6 men, 2 women and 4 minors) in good health.
Finally, in the Capo Teulada polygon, the Carabinieri of the Military Police unit tracked down 14 migrants (13 men and 1 woman), who had landed shortly before in Porto Scudo. Also in this case, the vessel used was not found.
All migrants, once they had completed the health and routine checks, were accompanied to the first reception centre in Monastir .
