With their destination now within reach, they paced back and forth along the beach. Then they pointed the bow toward the small harbor. On land, they celebrated their successful crossing, lighting flares, smoke bombs, and fireworks.
About ten Algerians landed in a fiberglass boat among the swimmers this afternoon at Porto Pino, in the Sant'Anna Arresi area. All men and in good health, they were about to disperse when they were reached by the Carabinieri, who identified them and transferred them to the first reception center in Monastir.

Shortly thereafter, the Sulcis landing management system was alerted to a new arrival, this time at the port of Sant'Antioco: eleven North Africans (10 Algerians and one Moroccan), again all male, arrived there. They were taken into custody by officers from the Carbonia police station and transferred to Monastir.

Further landings cannot be ruled out, given the favorable weather and sea conditions.
