Simone Uras , the 43-year-old from San Gavino arrested by the police during the night for the murder of his mother Maria Atzeni , a 76-year-old pensioner, was accompanied to Uta prison this morning .

The crime took place last night in the house where the two lived in via Tiziano, in San Gavino.

The woman's youngest son discovered the body , alarmed by a cousin to whom Simone Uras had just confessed the family quarrel on the phone.

On site were the carabinieri from the town station, those from the radiomobile unit of the Villacidro company under the command of Captain Francesco Capula and the soldiers from the operational department of the provincial command of Cagliari.
