The preliminary hearing judge of the Lanusei Court, Paola Massidda, has sent Giampaolo Migali, 28, from Girasole, to trial for the murder of Marco Mameli, 22, from Ilbono.

Migali was not present in court. During yesterday's hearing, after some procedural wrangling, the judge rejected a motion for nullity filed by the defense, which then requested a summary trial conditional on the hearing of expert witnesses. The motion was denied by the judge.

At 2:30 pm, after a brief deliberation, the court ordered the indictment, setting the hearing for April 29th at the Assize Court in Cagliari.

Marco Mameli's parents were in the courtroom, represented by lawyer Gianluigi Mastio. Outside the courthouse, a group of relatives of the murdered young man wrote on placards expressing their desire for justice and truth. Migali is represented by lawyers Francesca Ferrai and Maria Leonida Cadoni.
