In February, life will certainly get harder for no vaxes, but even those vaccinated with an expiring Green pass risk being able to leave the house only with a negative swab, and in any case not being able to travel anymore, or if they are fifty years old. , go to work. Basically, as if they didn't get the vaccine.
A mess that from next Tuesday could mess up many people waiting to take the third dose and many who instead made the booster recall in September (the categories most at risk). From 1 February, in fact, the validity of the green pass automatically drops from nine to six months (coinciding with the protection given by the vaccine), and therefore acquires a duration of 180 days from the date of the last administration, whether it is second or third dose.
The knot to untie
The question is on the government's table, but for the moment it seems that we are only talking about the expiry of the certificate of those who have taken the third dose and the extension is being considered. In Sardinia not many people, actually. On the island there are 740 thousand who have already done the reinforcement, but if at the beginning we started with the immunosuppressed and the elderly, it must be said that after the opening (in October) of the hubs for all citizens, the surge of the third administrations there was only at the end of November. So for the overwhelming majority there is still some time, but it is true that, if the extension of the expiry date of the green card does not arrive, by March several thousand vaccinated Sardinians still risk finding each other point and head.
The alarming sms
Then there is the situation of extreme confusion regarding who is waiting for the third dose. "The green Covid documentation is no longer valid from 01-02-22 due to a reduction in the period of validity. To renew it, a booster dose is required ". This is the SMS message from the Ministry of Health that is arriving on the mobile phones of millions of Italians (and thousands of Sardinians) who had the second dose of vaccine six months ago and who will therefore soon see the validity of the certificate vanish.
The early puncture
Many have already booked the third dose, but the appointment - also considering the surge in administrations and the queue in the hubs - maybe is fixed days, weeks, even a month after the expiry of the green card. There are those who managed to anticipate by lining up in front of the vaccination points organized in different countries (perhaps after having covered many kilometers), while others, until they obtain the new certificate, could be forced to the basic green pass. So, for example, no restaurant and bar, no theater and gym, no public transport.
The government, therefore, is evaluating the problem, but for the moment we are only talking about those who have the third dose Green pass expiring.
