Daniele Nieddu, the 29-year-old young man from Macomer, a youthful exponent of local politics and former city councilor, passed away this morning. He had been fighting an incurable disease for some time: for months he had been going to Milan often and, as the situation worsened, many citizens had come to help the family for an operation that was supposed to be decisive.

The young man, however, worsened further and this morning, after much suffering, he ceased to live . Among the first of those not elected in the municipal elections two years ago, Daniele Nieddu continued to be involved in politics, as long as he had the strength.

"An intelligent young man who had the fate of his town at heart is gone," says Mayor Riccardo Uda. "Let's say goodbye together to Daniele Nieddu, a young man who was also culturally committed."
