Very tense post-election phase in Luras, the controversies of the last few weeks risk leaving heavy aftermath.
The former deputy mayor, Gianni Cabras, talks about the electoral campaign and announces lawsuits: «I made a precise choice during the electoral competition, no personal attacks against opponents and their supporters. Politics is not done with slander. A line that paid off, my list lost, it's true, I extend my best wishes and compliments to the newly elected Leonardo Lutzoni, but I have confirmed the consensus of 2021. Once the electoral game is over, I thank the people who have placed their trust in me and I say enough to the slander, otherwise I will be forced to protect myself legally».
Cabras explains: «Former mayor Mauro Azzena, whom I loyally supported until the conditions were right, attributes very serious conduct to me, slanders that must stop. I am very bitter. Contrary to what Azzena publicly declared, I used my means and personal resources to guarantee some municipal services . I transported water to those who needed it and deployed my assets for the needs of the community. Any expense incurred by my department was accounted for and verified. I do not allow anyone to say different things. I tolerated the slanders and waited until the end of the election campaign to respond, but now I will protect myself in all venues. As for the new administrators in office, they won because they are an excellent team. I hope, however, that they free themselves from the old politics».
