Nuoro Deputy Prosecutor Ireno Satta has ordered the immediate trial of Pietro Contena, 54, accused of the murder of Luca Goddi, which occurred on August 4, 2023, in Orune. Represented by Basilio Brodu, the man will appear before the Nuoro Assize Court on November 17. According to the prosecution, Contena shot Goddi while he was in his car, a Volkswagen Golf, on Corso Repubblica. Four shots from a 9x19 caliber pistol, two of which were fatal, were fired in the center of town and in the presence of numerous witnesses, many of whom, however, have chosen to remain silent. The reconstruction of events is based on wiretaps, technical surveys, video surveillance images, and telephone analysis.

The arrest

Contena was arrested in May by the Carabinieri Investigative Unit and the Bitti Company, with the support of the Cacciatori Squadron. The man is known by the nickname "Ridotta," which he himself confirmed. This nickname, after a lengthy investigation, helped paint a picture that investigators believe to be significant, especially since that name was found on a notepad found in the bar on Corso Repubblica, which closed quickly after the crime.
