Two life sentences in 25 years. With the ruling of the Court of Cassation that confirms the conviction for the femicide of Speranza Ponti , Massimiliano Farci is given the second “never-ending sentence”. The man had already been definitively sentenced for the murder of the entrepreneur Roberto Baldussi (1999), motived by the possession of a sports car, a red Lotus.

Farci, after spending several years in prison, had obtained semi-liberty for his irreproachable conduct in prison and Speranza Ponti had helped him rebuild a new life. Lawyer Stefano Carboni is assisting the victim's family together with his colleague Edoardo Morette and commented on the ruling (filed today) of the Court of Cassation as follows: "There are a total of 21 judges who, at various levels, have reiterated Farci's unequivocal responsibilities. Two professional judges and 6 lay judges in the first instance, as many in appeal and, lastly, 5 judges in the Court of Cassation. Farci is evidently and unequivocally guilty. As many judges had already sentenced him for the terrible murder of the Red Lotus. Farci cannot, evidently, continue to lie, even professing himself innocent and the victim of judicial errors; this after having ruined the lives of so many families and killed, barbarically, two poor young victims who had trusted him. Let's hope that the life sentence is effective and without any benefit. In 20 years we cannot run the risk of finding him back in circulation because, unfortunately, history teaches us and his murders have already been repeated twice."
