The demonstration started at 10 from Piazza Garibaldi . Then the walk of about 500 meters to the war memorial. The deputy mayor Giorgio Angius is present for the municipality of Cagliari. Here the laurel wreath was laid.

"The associations Anpi, Anppia and Uaps - this is the position of the promoters of the march - express a firm condemnation of the Russian aggression and recognize the Ukrainian right to defense. It is precisely the tragic situation underway that pushes us to fight even more convinced because the diplomacy has the upper hand over weapons: peoples pay a very high price to wars and lose even when their own side is victorious. War is a profitable business for very few: the sooner it is stopped, the better for everyone ".

A SASSARI - In Sassari on the Liberation Day the flag of Ukraine also waved next to the tricolor: it is the sign of solidarity with the Ukrainian people and with their resistance that the municipal administration wanted to share with all citizens on the day of 25 April. The blue and yellow drape was displayed on the central balcony of the Doge's Palace and inside, in the spaces dedicated to the ceremony at which the civil and military authorities, the Anpi and other fighting and weapon associations and citizens were present.

SOLINAS: "PROMOTING PEACE AND SOLIDARITY" - "The anniversary of the Liberation is a day of celebration, reflection and even celebration to make known and recall the moments that marked the end of the war after years of pain and destruction and fascism, the reconquest of democracy and people's freedom. 77 years later this heritage of memory and values is more relevant than ever, given the dark times we are living in, and it is therefore important to celebrate worthily the memory of the struggle for Liberation to promote the values of peace and solidarity ". Thus the President of the Region, Christian Solinas , on the day of the anniversary of the Liberation, celebrated this morning in La Maddalena during a touching ceremony in the presence of the Regional Councilor for Education and Culture, Andrea Biancareddu , to remember the fallen of the battle that it took place on the island of La Maddalena from 9 to 13 September 1943.

In the battle of La Maddalena, fought in the days immediately following the signing of the armistice, to free the island from German occupation, 28 Italian soldiers died (including eleven Sardinians, almost all very young) and over forty were wounded. To remember what was one of the very first acts of the Italian Resistance , on 13 September 2019 a monument dedicated to the fallen of the battle was inaugurated in La Maddalena, a symbol of the Resistance fought in Sardinia, designed by the architect Almo Bramucci and built by the Anpi , the National Partisans Association, thanks also to the contribution of the Region.

"Today - said the commissioner Biancareddu after placing a laurel wreath in front of the war memorial - we pay homage to the sacrifice of our soldiers, of young Sardinians who have died with an act of courage necessary to restore our freedom. The pleasure of being here, on this Island to commemorate a day dear to us all, the Liberation Day. A day that symbolizes friendship, brotherhood of sacrifice and pride for us Sardinians. To the fighters of that time, and today to the fighting associations, we owe a thank you that will never end ".

PAIS: "FESTIVAL OF REFLECTION" - "This year the Liberation Day has a particular meaning for our country and for Europe", the words of the President of the Regional Council, Michele Pais . we want to pay homage to the memory of the approximately 4000 Sardinians engaged in the national Resistance and who sacrificed their lives to build a better Italy, free from the Nazi-Fascist regime and united around the values of peace and democracy. But it is also a Liberation Day for reflection in to which we must show solidarity with our brothers involved in a war that is bleeding a part of Europe. This conflict, 77 years after the end of the last world war, dramatically brings war events that we would never have wanted to see back to topicality ".

SOLIDARITY IN ASSANGE - "Alternative" Liberation Day in Piazza Yenne in Cagliari, organized by the DonneambienteSardegna and Sardegna Pulita associations as a sign of solidarity with the journalist Julian Assange. An appeal was also sent to the highest continental institutions. "The European Union - say the promoters - intervene for your freedom". The battle against Assange's extradition to the States starts, therefore, also from Cagliari. In Piazza Yenne interventions and display of messages to avoid - explain the associations - the death of free information and the gag on the freedom of all ".
