The carabinieri of the Macomer Company, Nucleo Operativo and Radiomobile, together with their colleagues from the Suni, Bosa, Montresta Stations and the Abbasanta "Cacciatori Sardegna" Squadron, vanquished a gang of five people on the charge of production in Planargia, possession and trafficking of narcotic substances . All at the conclusion of the investigations last December, linked to the discovery of 15.5 kilos of cannabis pollen, of 2,400 dried hemp plants.

One person was arrested, two ended up under house arrest and the other two required an obligation to stay: they are all from Macomer and Bosa, among them there is also a woman.

During the investigations , two 2,200-square-meter industrial warehouses used as refineries were also seized . In fact, during the search, a cavity had been discovered in a room whose access was protected by a well-hidden trap door, used for indoor cultivation of the narcotic. Furthermore, the silos of the old distillery to which that industrial area was used had been reused to store and hide the inflorescences already processed and ready for marketing.

“The activity confirmed once again how illegal activities are often hidden behind the screen of hemp sativa”, explain the military leaders involved in the operation.

The analysis of the cannabis found in Macomer established that in some samples the percentage of thc is between 11 and 20%, well beyond the limit allowed for industrial production (less than 0.2%). It can be calculated that the drug on the illegal market could have yielded about 8 million euros.
