The Carabinieri of the Giba Station, in collaboration with the Carabinieri Military Police Unit of Capo Teulada, tracked down and rescued 21 migrants , all of presumed Algerian nationality, in the Porto Pino area along the SS 195 at km 73 and inside the Military Polygon of Capo Teulada.
The migrants, including 16 men, 3 women and 2 minors, who had arrived shortly before along the coast on a boat that was not found, were in good health. All were transferred to the CPA in Monastir, with the escort of the Calasetta Carabinieri Station.
The operation is part of "the constant commitment of the Carabinieri to guarantee the security and humanitarian management of emergencies related to migratory flows, in collaboration with other competent authorities".
