120 migrants, seeking international protection, have arrived in the port of Cagliari and will be distributed in the various reception facilities on the island, managed by the system of Prefectures which report to the Ministry of the Interior.

They are foreigners who have been redirected from the Lampedusa hotspot. In recent days, the landings on the Sicilian islet have been slowed down by bad weather and a strong mistral wind. So the government ordered the immediate redistribution in other regions of Italy for 1,828 guests out of 3,593.

Of these, 120 traveled from Civitavecchia to Cagliari aboard a liner.

Waiting for them, on the quay, is the reception camp organized by the Prefecture and managed by the regional civil protection.

After the medical visits and the verification of the state of health, the migrants will take the road to the reception facilities available on the Sardinian territory.
