It will be the architect Carlo Ignazio Vigo, with studio in Cagliari, who will draw up the definitive and executive project, safety coordination in the planning and execution phases, and construction supervision, for "the renovation and re-functionalization of the Ospedaletto Garibaldi building".

The structure of Due Strade, built in 1907 thanks to the interest of the Garibaldi family in favor of the sick islanders, in the last decades - before it was declared unfit for use - had been used as a home, ASL clinic and Avis headquarters. A year ago the technical and economic feasibility project was approved. On that occasion, the mayor, Fabio Lai, declared that the intervention «is not just about the redevelopment of a historic building, our priority is health care. The Ospedaletto Garibaldi represents a very important piece to put on the technical/political table that we have opened with the Department of Health and Local Health Authority of Gallura».

An intervention of 800,000 euros in total with ministerial funds for the smaller islands. The building will be renovated in two stages: the first will rebuild, integrate and strengthen the load-bearing walls and roof; the second involves the redefinition of the interior spaces.
