La Maddalena, persecution of a woman and her disabled daughter: sentenced to 16 months

An 82-year-old pensioner was sentenced by Tempio Pausania's preliminary hearing judge, Federica Di Stefano, to 16 months in prison for a series of serious incidents that occurred in La Maddalena.

According to prosecutor Alessandro Bosco, the elderly man had long stalked a neighbor and the woman's daughter, a girl with severe disabilities.

According to the investigation documents, the pensioner allegedly attempted to run over the victims and repeatedly threatened to burn down their home.

On one occasion he also reportedly said he would throw acid at the two women.

The alleged victims filed a civil suit and were assisted by the lawyer Nino Vargiu.
