Alessandro Massidda, the forty-nine-year-old who showed up at the Town Hall in Capoterra on Monday afternoon , armed with a switchblade, demanding that he hand over the money that, he claimed, was owed to him by the administration, is leaving Uta prison but remains under house arrest.

First he had railed against some employees, then against a local police officer who had tried to stop him, then he was tackled by an off-duty Carabinieri deputy sergeant , who was in the town hall for personal reasons: the soldier, in civilian clothes, tackled and disarmed Massidda, who was then arrested by the Carabinieri of the Radiomobile.

This morning, during the validation hearing before Judge Giulia Tronci, the forty-nine-year-old, assisted by lawyer Fabio Cannas , apologized for his actions, which were motivated by desperation over lack of funds. The court ordered house arrest.
