Francesco Baingio Douglas Fadda continues to claim that Zdenka Krejcikova inflicted the stab wounds that killed her by herself.
The 45-year-old from Sassari, accused of stabbing the 40-year-old of Czech origin, his partner in a bar in Sorso on February 15, 2020, persists in saying that it was not he who wounded her to death.
Today, during the cross-examination before the Sassari Court of Assizes, the accused confirmed his declaration of innocence. Answering the questions of his defense lawyer, Lorenzo Galisai, Fadda reiterated that when he left the house with his partner he had not noticed that she had a knife. She saw him in the bar where she had taken refuge in search of help with her twin daughters today 12 years old: he joined her, there was a fight, during which she stabbed herself.
A version that does not agree with that of some witnesses, all patrons of the bar where the crime took place, who said that the accused threw himself violently against the victim, snatching his disabled daughter from her arms and hitting her. with a stab.
Returning to Fadda's story, after the injury he loaded her into the car with the two girls to accompany her to the Ossi medical center but, not finding the entrance to the clinic, he left her dying at the home of an acquaintance. who lives next door. He did not take her to the emergency room in Sassari because, he explained, a judge's ruling was in force against him prohibiting him from approaching his partner.
After leaving the woman in Ossi, Fadda said again before the court presided over by Massimo Zaniboni, adjudicator Giuseppe Grotteria, he went away taking the two twins with him, "because his mother had entrusted the disabled child to me a few days earlier, and I would not have known who to leave them with ". A version that confirms what has already been declared by the accused in the previous hearings, in response to the questions of the prosecutor Paolo Piras and the lawyers of the plaintiff, Pietro Diaz and Teresa Pes.
The trial will resume on November 2 with the testimony of the defense witnesses.
