A 33-year-old man arrested in Senorbì on charges of stalking, kidnapping, robbery, and assault on a young woman.

The order of custody in prison was carried out by the Carabinieri of the local station, in tandem with the military of Siurgus Donigala.

The order was issued by the Judge for Preliminary Investigations of the Court of Cagliari, at the end of an investigation that began when the woman found the courage, after a long time, to tell her dramatic story.

The investigations revealed that the woman - an employee - had been stalked for years, staked out outside her workplace and had her movements obsessively monitored, the result of a morbid jealousy on the part of the 33-year-old.

Not only that: on at least one occasion she was allegedly attacked, deprived of her phone and forced to stay locked in her house, without the possibility of asking for help.

The victim's statements, medical findings and testimonies acquired provided investigators with elements deemed serious and consistent, which were forwarded to the Public Prosecutor's Office. Having assessed the risk of further violence, the investigating judge of Cagliari ordered the man's precautionary custody in prison, to protect the young woman's safety.

The 33-year-old, stopped by the Carabinieri, was then taken to the Uta penitentiary , where he is still at the disposal of the Judicial Authorities.
