A fire broke out in the early afternoon today in the Pardu Valley, in the Jerzu area.

A Canadair was taken off from the Peninsula to support the firefighting operations coordinated by the Jerzu Forestry station.

The flames attacked a ridge of olive trees overlooking the old stretch of the former state road 125 which, from Genna 'e Cresia, leads towards the Pelau area.

On site, in addition to the men from the Forestry Corps, there were two teams of volunteers and barracelli for the reclamation operations. From an initial inspection by the foresters it was ascertained that approximately three hectares went up in smoke.
