Controversy and protests over the lack of a 118 emergency service in the municipality of Ittiri. Ambulances have been absent from the city for several weeks. The Municipality of Ittiri announced only yesterday, Saturday, January 16, a statement emphasizing that, due to the sudden and unexpected request to terminate the agreement by the association previously in charge, the basic 118 emergency service is undergoing a reorganization. The municipal administration received assurances from Areus, the Regional Emergency Agency, that it would take immediate action to ensure the continuity of services. For reasons of transparency and regulatory compliance, however, it was necessary to launch a new tender process to identify a new suitable provider to fill the position, publish a call for tenders, and proceed with the subsequent review of the proposals received by the company.

"The Company assures that emergency medical services will still be guaranteed by nearby stations and advanced rescue vehicles coordinated by the 118 Operations Center," the statement reads. The assignment procedures are nearing completion, and the Ittiri station is expected to be fully operational shortly.
