A step forward in the production of renewable energy by exploiting water resources . The Regional Council, on the proposal of the Councilor for Environmental Protection, Rosanna Laconi, has approved the renovation (revamping) of the existing mini hydroelectric plant on the Liscia dam, in the Municipality of Luras, in Gallura, presented by Enas, the Sardinian Water Authority (Enas).

The intervention, as stated in a press release, "concerns the functional and architectural recovery of a pre-existing plant, never put into operation, through the installation of three new hydroelectric groups capable of using a water flow of 7.2 cubic meters per second, with an estimated production of 4,921 MWh/year. The energy will be destined for self-consumption by Enas, with the aim of feeding the regional water system ."

The intervention, with a total value of five million euros, financed with regional funds. " It is a project that combines sustainability and redevelopment ", highlights Councilor Laconi, "and that demonstrates how public infrastructures can become protagonists of the energy transition, in full respect of the environment and the landscape".
