No one in Solarussa forgets that 3 July 2003 , when Doctor Roberta Zedda was killed in the medical clinic in Via Garibaldi , at the hands of what must have been a patient seeking treatment.

The Municipality now, 21 years after the assassination, has decided to name a town square in Roberta's memory.

" The resolution has already been approved - comments the mayor of Solarussa Mario Tendas - For the community it is an always open wound that will never close".

It was actually the citizens who proposed the name of the doctor to the Municipality: «Some time ago, our councilor Matteo Floris, professor at the University of Medicine, in Sassari, promoted a survey, given the need to give new names to streets and squares of the town. The name that was most indicated during this popular consultation was Roberta."

Meanwhile, today the doctor will be remembered in Sanluri , her town of origin, in an evening dedicated to her. At 6.30 pm mass will be celebrated in the church of San Lorenzo and then at 7.30 pm we will continue in the theater . Barring any problems, the mayor of Solarussa will also participate in the event.

After that dramatic event, the presence of the security guard was established in all emergency medical clinics .

Years ago, in collaboration with the Oristano Local Health Authority, the municipal clinic in via Garibaldi was named after Roberta Zedda, where she had worked as a doctor for several months. Before the tragedy.
