Church of San Giuseppe packed today in Sassari for the last farewell to Patrizia Incollu , director of the Badu 'e Carros prison. The 57-year-old died on 31 October from the consequences of a road accident, in which prison officer Peppino Fois lost his life, which occurred 12 days earlier on the road between Lanusei and Nuoro.

Present at the funeral ceremony were the highest civil and military authorities, including Alberto Rizzo, head of Cabinet of the Minister of Justice Carlo Nordio. The bishop of Nuoro Antonio Mura officiated the mass, flanked by three chaplains from the prisons of Bancali, Badu 'e Carros and Tempio.

The high prelate himself wanted to recall Incollu's great human qualities and absolute dedication to her work but, at the same time, he focused on the task assigned to her and "the excessive expenditure of energy" that it entailed.

The memories of the commander of the Nuoro penitentiary police Amerigo Fusco are emotional: «Patrizia was a respectable person and a true servant of the State». In the front row the mother and sister of the deceased together with her partner. Hundreds of people outside the church gave a long round of applause as the coffin passed.
