Following the Nuorese Mountain Community, the Barbagia-Mandrolisai community is also taking the field in the provincial elections, supporting the idea of a united list with Giuseppe Ciccolini as its candidate for president.

This was confirmed at yesterday morning's meeting in Sorgono, with the majority of mayors converging on the candidacy of the current extraordinary administrator and mayor of Bitti. The candidate for local councilor was also identified in Sorgono's mayor, Franco Zedde.

"We support a single list," says Alessandro Corona, president of the Mountain Community and mayor of Atzara, "because with this terrible electoral law, which penalizes small municipalities, it's the only way to have a representative from our region in the next provincial council."

"Our interest," Corona adds, "is to pursue a unified policy and ensure that our territory, already severely isolated, is not excluded from the new provincial body." For this reason, Corona reiterates: "Supporting the single list with Ciccolini as President is a step in this direction."

Sorgono Mayor Franco Zedde also expressed his satisfaction, stating: "I wanted to make myself available to run for councilor on a single list because our interest is to march together to give a voice to the area, without partisan politics."

The administrators of Tonara, Meana Sardo, Austis, Teti, Aritzo, and Ortueri share this view, as do Gadoni and Desulo, who emphasize "the need to build a provincial council capable of giving voice to all the territories and that grants equal dignity to all representatives within it."

"The goal," the mayors say, "is to create growth prospects for the entire Province, avoiding the creation of second-class and second-class zones."
