In Sassari 670 road accidents in just over five months: tightening of controls

Controls are intensified on the streets of Sassari , where the local police can now count on two telelaser .

The Administration has decided to strengthen the activity of patrols to prevent and combat all those behaviors that create dangers for oneself and for others while driving.

A choice made also in light of the latest tragic data on accidents : in just over five months the local police found 670 road accidents compared to 1,015 in the whole of 2021, in which there was already a significant growth compared to previous years. Furthermore, the statistical data elaborated on a national basis and confirmed at the local level show that road accidents increase in the summer months, both numerically and in terms of the severity of the injuries suffered by the subjects involved.

In particular, in the first five months of 2022 the speed checks produced 295 penalties , of which 138 on the Octave, and 115 on the Buddi Buddi, with twelve licenses withdrawn.

In these days, speed checks have already been extended to new roads and localities , chosen on the basis of the accident rate detected by the command in via Carlo Felice di Sassari with the "transparency operation". This consists of checks on compliance with the speed limits along urban and extra-urban roads with the highest level of accidents.

THE STATIONS - Transparency is ensured by preventive information on the locations where the checks will be carried out, which between July and August will be on the SP 42 near the hamlet of Campanedda, on the SP 18, in correspondence with the hamlet of Bancali, in via Giuseppe De Martini, in viale Porto Torres, in via Prati, in via Domenico Millelire, in via Predda Niedda and on Buddi Buddi.

In addition, new signs have been installed in recent days to increase safety on the streets. Checks are now legitimized on the SP 42 near the hamlet of Campanedda, on the SP 18, in correspondence with the hamlet of Bancali, in via Giuseppe De Martini, in viale Porto Torres, in via Prati in the urban center of the city.

Transparency is also ensured by the fact that with the telelaser the Sassari local police carry out only immediate disputes , stopping the driver when the illegal conduct is ascertained, and this ensures the transparency of the activity and creates immediate awareness in the offender of having committed an unlawful conduct by offering, also, the possibility for the same to raise objections that can be noted in the complaint report.
