The Urology department reopens today at the Santissima Trinità in Cagliari, a symbol of the fact that the hospital, as confirmed by the medical director of the single hospital unit Sergio Marracini, "is once again available to all other patients".

Over one hundred beds and eight wards that during the pandemic emergency moments were made available to patients affected by Covid, who are now being assisted at Binaghi.

In short, we return to normal and doctors and nurses return to service in their respective departments. The activities, continues Marracini, are resuming at full speed.

During the months in which there was the peak of infections, health services have suffered a sharp decline with a vacuum of prevention and assistance that will most likely project into delays in diagnoses and in the necessary treatments.

To give a few examples, the first year of the pandemic canceled over 200,000 visits and examinations for cardiological patients, 20,000 general surgeries, 320,000 CT scans and mammograms.

Now we have to deal with the backlog.
