From 1 to 8 June a relic of Padre Pio of Pietrelcina will be in Sardinia : the incorrupt heart preserved in San Giovanni Rotondo in the convent of the Capuchin Friars where the saint spent most of his religious life. After the saint's death, in 2008, during the reconnaissance of the mortal remains, the heart was removed and found to be incorrupt.

It is the first time that the relic has arrived in Sardinia , at the behest of Father Roberto Sardu, spiritual son of Padre Pio, devoted guardian of the work of the Servant of God Fra' Nazareno da Pula.

Until 6 June, the heart of the saint will be exhibited in the convent of Is Molas , then it will leave for La Maddalena and finally return to San Giovanni Rotondo.

On 1 June , at 6 pm, in the Parish of San Giovanni Battista in Pula, the relic will be welcomed with a solemn mass celebrated by the Archbishop of Cagliari, Monsignor Giuseppe Baturi . Immediately after the celebration, it will be carried in procession towards the church of Fra' Nazareno, where it will be exposed for the veneration of the faithful and where numerous celebrations are planned every day.
