In Sardinia in 2022 more people die than in the pre-Covid period
Every month, according to the Istat tables, almost 300 deaths are recorded on the island, above the average of recent years

Sardinians die much more in 2022 than in the pre-pandemic period . Every month on the island there are almost three hundred deaths above the average of previous years: both of those characterized by Covid and those of the luster that goes from 2015 to 2019. The official tables of Istat say this, and for the Isola report a major increase in the death rate, despite the decline in the number of daily victims linked to the virus.
The causes of the phenomenon? A constant aging of the population, of course. But according to medical statisticians there is more: the epidemic has brought the island's health system to its knees and more and more diagnosis and treatment of pathologies are denied. So people get sick. And it dies more and more.
