He has always worked in the countryside, in the cold but also under the sun. And who knows if it is precisely thanks to this that Severina Foddis managed to blow out one hundred candles. Today in Santa Giusta there is a big celebration for the town's granny. Surrounded by relatives and friends she celebrated the important milestone.

She is the second living centenarian: Severina, born in Santa Giusta on 28 February 1924, has lived in the hamlet of Corte Baccas since 1970. In 1955 she married Antonio Zaccheddu, a farm worker, with whom she had three children: Maria Efisia, Sandro and Rita. Today he has four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. She has been a widow since 2000, but not a day goes by when she doesn't think about her husband.

As his relatives say, his life has always been characterized by simplicity and care for his family. The centenarian also received the sight of the mayor Andrea Casu: «For achieving this great goal we gave her a bouquet of flowers and a plaque - says the mayor - A tribute from the municipal administration and the entire community. Best wishes to you." Don't miss the sweets, balloons and lots of souvenir photos.
