In Oristano, ARST drivers protest: "The roads are unsafe, too risky."
A petition is being collected to report disruptions and problems along the lines. And some refuse to drive the buses.Per restare aggiornato entra nel nostro canale Whatsapp
A few days ago, some even refused to board the bus and carry out their duties. The reason? Too much disruption on the city streets, with the potential for damage to the vehicle just around the corner. This is also because any damage is charged to the driver. But not only that: it's also about protecting their own safety. The ARST drivers, who work on the Oristano urban line, are in revolt. There are many, perhaps too many, problems that, despite requests, have never been resolved. This is why the director of the Oristano office, Sandro Demurtas, and the director of the central office, Carlo Poledrini, yesterday received a petition from bus drivers who work in the city, including the hamlet of Silì and the seaside village of Torre Grande. The document signed by the drivers lists all the critical issues encountered daily.
The petition reports brambles and tall vegetation on the sides of the road, which, in addition to posing a risk to vehicles, reduce visibility and increase the risk during maneuvers. It also reports that, due to the narrowness of the carriageways, 12-meter vehicles are forced to cross into the opposite lane during maneuvers. It also reports the presence of poles, parked cars obstructing traffic, and canals obscured by tall grass. The petition concludes with an appeal from the workers: "We request urgent intervention to inspect and secure the sections and urgently address all complaints. This also includes the rerouting of the lines or the temporary deployment of shorter, more suitable vehicles."
If nothing is resolved after the signature collection, the protest could become more sensational.
